About Plantful Pregnancy


Hi, I’m Bec,

Adventure-seeking, food-obsessed (surprise!), soy latte-drinking, Plant-based Pregnancy Dietitian Nutritionist.

After seeing friends, family and clients want to follow a vegetarian and vegan diet during pregnancy but told eating meat is the only way to get enough iron and protein, I knew this was outdated advice. I never wanted any future or expecting Mum to feel ashamed, stuck or overwhelmed and not sure where to start. So, I traded the big smoke of Melbourne for the peaceful beaches of Queensland, where I created Plantful Pregnancy.

With the belief that plants have the power to ignite a positive change and secure a kind, sustainable future for the next generation, soon-to-be and expecting mums come to Plantful Pregnancy because unlike traditional Dietitians and Nutritionists, I make filling your pregnancy with plant goodness not only a whole lot of fun, but healthy and nourishing for mum, bub and the planet.

Through my digital eco-system, I work to quieten the confusion, overwhelm and self-doubt from your inner baby brain, by focusing on empowering each and every woman to make an informed decision around what feels good for their bodies and their bellies.

As a millennial who also worries about the state of planet we are gifting the next generation, I believe we can all make a positive impact by simply choosing to eat more plants. But it’s not without challenges, as a vegetarian (98% plant-based) myself, I understand how difficult it can be to get enough of the essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin B12, Iron and the Omega’s. I use the combination of lived experience, science and 3 generations of chefs in the family to create easy-to-use partner-proof recipes (inside Grow) and guides to ensure every stage of your pregnancy journey feels good and is nourished.

From preconception, through the pregnancy waddle to the final push, every soon-to-be mum can expect to feel supported and confident growing a healthy baby ethically and sustainably with go-to nutrition advice they can trust.

What are the benefits of a plant-based pregnancy?

Good for Mum, Bub & the Planet

Eating more plants both exclusively or mostly during pregnancy can decrease the risk of pregnancy related conditions such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and postnatal depression.

From preconception, right through to toddlerhood, this window of time for bub has been termed ‘early life programming’ where the environment (including diet) around your bub impacts their health as not only a little chickpea, but also as an adult.
